DOS OJOS SCUBA Dive Shop is located at the main entrance of cenotes Dos Ojos on Highway 307 about 6 miles (10 km) south of Akumal or 10 miles (12 km) north of Tulum. We call ourselves the cenotes Dos Ojos' "house guides" as we are just a few steps away from its main entrance. Our guides are full cave diver certified, with hundreds of dives in the local environment, dedicated to providing safe and responsible cavern and cave diving services. They are knowledgeable and experienced in the local cenote systems above and below the ground. We select cenotes cavern and cave diving sites according to the training level of individual divers.
Our diving and the Dos Ojos System...
In terms of SCUBA diving, the dimension of an underground river system is related to the length of “life lines” or guide lines that are placed permanently in the overhead zones by the original explorers of those systems.
These lines give the size to a system. On the area between the south of Tulum and Playa del Carmen there are more than 500 miles (800 kilometers) of these lines in more than 50 systems...within these systems we have the 15 world’s largest. The entrances or cenotes are countless.
We are specializing in cenotes cavern and cave diving; that is the reason why our “headquarters” is located in the heart of the cave and cenote main area. We are at the Mayan community zone known as Ejido Jacinto Pat.
Under the land of Ejido Jacinto Pat we find most of the lines of two of the three world’s largest systems: the internationally famous Dos Ojos System and the enormous Sac Aktun System.
